Public transit along “with other strategies” have the potential to yield significant greenhouse gas emissions reductions, GHG emissions reductions equating to hundreds of billions of consumer dollars saved. These are purported findings of Moving Cooler, a new environmental study conducted by Cambridge Systematics and sponsored by the Urban Land Institute, et al., according to the July 28, 2009 American Public Transit Association News Release: “Public Transit Combined with other Strategies Can Reduce Greenhouse Gases by 24 Percent and Save Consumers $112 Billion Annually, According to New Environmental Study.”
